In the summer of 1959 Fr Claude Leetham, the visiting headmaster of Ratcliffe College, near Leicester, saw the Madonna in the new Catholic church in Cricieth and decided that the artist responsible was the man to do all the artwork for the school’s new chapel. It marked the point where Jonah Jones’s career moved to a new level.
