In 1961–62 Jonah made a huge sheet-aluminium baldacchino surfaced with laminating resin to go over the high altar in the new Ratcliffe College chapel, painted and gilded with a vivid image of fish in a turbulent sea surrounded by large letters. During the 1990s an unsympathetic headmaster had it removed. No known colour photographs of the work exist.
